This covenant group of men and women, founded in 1994 by Bob and Dorothy Kirkpatrick, takes its name and inspiration from the life of The Great Carpenter, our Lord Jesus Christ. Its members seek to emulate Christ’s love and grace through their service to others. The Fellowship’s mission is to show "God’s love in action" by way of hands-on support projects that enhance people’s lives.
The Fellowship has built and renovated facilities for RBCPC, for its Resale Shop, and for church staff, as well for as other organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Interfaith Community Services, Presbyterian Urban Ministries, San Diego Rescue Mission, Buckheart Ranch Youth Ministries, Sudanese-American Presbyterian Church, Border Missions, and Mt. Laguna Church. The Fellowship provided hands-on assistance to those who lost their homes in the 2003 and 2007 wildfires, and participates each year in the decorating of our church for Christmas.
Since 2002, the Fellowship has spearheaded the annual “Souper Bowl of Caring” food drive at RBCPC, partnering with local Boy Scouts. Members worked in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, refurbishing houses following Hurricane Katrina, and have put together educational materials for Christian schools in foreign countries. Other projects have included assistance to military families, providing care packages for our troops overseas, and nurturing single moms with family needs. The Fellowship recent led a "Jeans for Vets" drive for San Diego’s Veteran’s Village, and is now assisting Vida Ministries in Tijuana.
