Visitation Volunteers

A Ministry of Friendship and Compassion

Contact Parish Nurse for more information

OUR PURPOSE:

VISITATION VOLUNTEERS is a ministry of friendship and compassion serving church members who are homebound or limited in their activities due to age or chronic illness.  This ministry recognizes the healing importance of friendship.  We strive to decrease the isolation experienced by some of our church members.

WOULD YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW LIKE TO HAVE A VISITOR?

Visitors can be there when family and friends can't.  There are people whose lives can be enriched by regular visits from a compassionate church member.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A VISITATION VOLUNTEER?

Volunteers attend a three-hour training session to learn visitation skills.  Volunteers are then assigned an individual to visit two to four times a month.  As needed, the Parish Nurse provides assistance and support to both the visitor and the person being visited.
