Upcoming Events

July 20 - Summer brings a trip to the Naples area of Long Beach to enjoy a ride on a gondola through Naples' network of canals, and also a visit to the spectacular Wayfarers' Chapel in Palos Verdes.

September - After a one-month break in August, the Savvy Travelers' trip will be to the magnificent Getty Museum high on the hills in the western part of Los Angeles (date not set yet).  The huge and famous Museum houses art of all types, from paintings to sculpture to photography to furniture, and of course the Museum itself is an architectural marvel.

November - Two trips, again one local and one overseas. Locally the group plans to attend a performance at a local theater (date and theater not set yet). The overseas trip will be a 10-day trip (Oct. 28-Nov. 6) to the Holy Land led by Pastor Ray Sparling.  The group will travel from the coast near Tel Aviv to the Sea of Galilee to Jerusalem, and will visit many of the sites which encompass the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, from His birth to His Crucifixion, and also of subsequent ministries of the Apostles.  As the Holy Land is also the home of two other faiths, the group will also visit sites which are sacred to Old Testament and the Jews, such as the Wailing Wall and Masada, and also sites which are sacred to Islam, including the Dome of the Rock. Woven throughout the trip will be times for worship, communion, meditation and inspiration.

December 7 - Savvy Travelers' 2010 trip schedule finishes in December with a twilight trip to the Mission Inn in Riverside, to enjoy first a guided tour of the building and grounds, and then at dusk sit down to a gourmet dinner on the Spanish Patio, while all around the spectacular holiday lights of the Inn (said to number over one million) come on.
