NAMI Family to Family
The NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) Family-to-Family Education Program is a 12 week course for families and friends of individuals with a severe brain disorder (mental illness). The curriculum focuses on: the illnesses of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic depression), clinical depression, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Course topics include: the biology of the brain; brain research; clinical treatment of these major illnesses; medication management; problem solving; coping and communication skills; and rehabilitation services. Pre-registration required.
