Kelly Kosky Bicycle Accident

Kelly Kosky, our missionary in Willowdale, South Africa recently was run over by a truck while riding his bicycle. They had to amputate the right leg, mid thigh. The good news is that a recent skin graft was successful. He has left hospital and returned to Willowdale to begin rehabilitation.

His rehabilitation and return to full activity will most likely take the remainder of 2010. Kelly will start with a 'loaner prosthesis' until he can afford the kind he wants. (A top of the line prosthesis can cost as much as $50,000)

Kelly's is upbeat and his wish is to continue resuming oversight of his ministry immediately.  More...

RBCPC Resale Shops

An important part of RBCPC Resale Store’s success are the people who call in and request that their donations of furniture or other large items be picked up from their home or place of business. A dedicated group of fifteen men known as “the Pickup Crew”, drive around each Tuesday and every other Friday to pick up these items and deliver them to the Resale Stores.

On February 10th the crew held its’ first-ever retirement party for Herb Hesketh who had been working on the truck for over 12 years, setting an all-time record for longevity. Known as our official “Senior Ambassador”, he has demonstrated kindness and gentleness at every stop, and has been known to get an occasional hug from some of the appreciative ladies. There is no doubt that the words “Well done good and faithful servant”, definitely apply to Herb. It goes without saying that the entire crew strives to maintain his high level of compassion and commitment as they faithfully serve each week.

The Resale Shops are also in need of furniture and clothing donations.  Our donations are down because of the economy and this directly affects our sales.  For more information or to arrange a furniture pick-up please call (858) 486-5023.  All of the proceeds from the Resale Shops go to missions.  Contact Gayle Marrett if you have any questions.
