Heartstrings - Hugs From the Heart

HeartstringsNext Meeting: Saturday, August 7th

Heartstrings - Hugs from the Heart will be meeting on Saturday, August 7, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. in Upper Courtside East. Come and fellowship with other delightful women of all skill levels to knit and crochet for a cause.

We are currently working on several projects. One is creating beanies for babies born to families stationed at Camp Pendleton. There is a tremendous need for these caps as there are approximately 100 babies delivered to these military families each month. Patterns for both knitted and crocheted newborn beanies are available. Please contact Cyndi Nolan for patterns.

Another one of our ongoing projects is making lapghans made from a variety of knitted and crocheted rectangles for the elderly folks enrolled in the U R Loved ministry here at RBCPC. Please continue to work on the 7” by 9” rectangles at home using worsted weight yarn in feminine colors for the U R Loved Ministry.

We are also knitting and crocheting bereavement blankets for babies delivered at Pomerado Hospital to be given to the parents as a reminder of their special child in hopes of comforting them in their loss. Many different patterns are available. Additionally, we are making baby blankets for Children’s Hospital for their intensive care unit made from fleece with a simple crocheted border.

You may leave any completed items in the Welcome Center pickup basket for Cyndi Nolan or bring them to our next gathering on August 7.

The Heartstrings ministry is for all skill levels, including beginners. Please encourage your friends to join us, too. Please feel free to forward this web site on to anyone who might be interested in joining us in this ministry. Together, we can all make a difference in someone else's life through the work of our hands.
