Gatyana Bible College: South Africa

The local people are desperately poor. Their villages do not have electricity, running water, or heat.  It is difficult to imagine a people who need Christ more than the Xhosans.

In addition to learning the Bible, each graduate of the two-year program must start a new church in a village that has no church. The need for these graduates to know the Bible and teach it to their fellow citizens is tremendous, but expensive.  Because these people are so poor, Gatyana Bible College must pay for all the students' needs while they are school.

Pastor Bruce Humphrey is on the board of the bible college and works together with local missionary to train up Xhosa leaders in South Africa. This is the only bible college in South Africa that is black run and trains up local leaders in their own language and culture. It has been an example that the native people are capable to be national leaders.

Located in Willowvale in the Eastern cape of South Africa, the Gatyana Bible College was founded in 2002.
