Escuela Cristiana Camirena: Bolivia

Escuela Christiana Camirina current enrollment is 245.  It is a non-denominational private school.  Tuition is very low, and they have accepted several students whose families cannot pay.  They trust in the Lord to provide for these students and RBCPC has become a big supporter.

They are allowed to present Jesus Christ at the school, and they hold weekly Bible studies for students who wish to attend, as well as the general public.  The school also serves as a centre of outreach to the surrounding community for Sunday Services and other community activities.

Missionary Gabe Meiers is staring his 5th year as the director of the school.  He and his wife Kari live nearby with their 4 small children.  In addition to being the director, Gabe leads worship services for the community on Sundays, mid week Bible studies, and youth activity nights on weekends.  Please visit his personal blog at:  http://escuelacristiana.wordpress.com/english-speaking-friends/

The town of Camiri where the school is located, is in the southern part of Bolivia, and has a population of about 35,000.  It's main activity is oil production, and some mining. People are friendly, but most are poor. The average teachers salary (they all teach part -time) is only about $30 U.S. a month.
