Children's Music and Drama
We feel a strong commitment to provide our children with an opportunity to recognize their God-given talents and to use them in His service. Our music programs include music education, instrumental opportunities, Christian education, worship leading, and carefully chosen music with appropriate text and range. Our Children's Choir participates in Worship once a month, as do the Treblemakers (our Children's Ensemble). Our emphasis with the children is on worship leading, not performance. Our commitment to excellence in Children's Music and Drama programming is based on our belief that what we present to the Lord must be our best.
Programs
STaRR
Wednesday, 3:45-5:30 p.m. for grades 2-5
Wednesday afternoons during the school year we gather to "Stomp, Rumble and Roar!" We meet in the Courtyard to have snacks for 15 minutes and then rehearse as a choir. After that we break into rotations. This year the rotations will include experiences in drama, dance, crafts, music theory, and recreation. The Children's Choir also leads in worship once a month and on special holidays. We'll begin our Spring Semester on January 18th! Meet us on the courtyard at 3:45 to register!
K-1 Music
Wednesday, 3:45-4:45 p.m. for grades K-1
This is a fun music exploration experience for Kingergarteners and First-graders. It meets on Wednesday afternoons in the courtyard, where we have snacks from 3:45 until 4. Then we head upstairs to Dormer east for some fantastic activities. Through rhythm games, dance, playing, and making instruments the children have fun learning basic music techniques that will instill a love of music and help to prepare them for their choir experiences in years to come. We'll begin our Spring Semester on January 18th! Meet us on the courtyard at 3:45 to register!!
Treblemakers
The Treblemakers are an auditioned group within the Children's Choir that leads in worship once a month. They also dedicate extra time to rehearsals each week. Auditions are held within a StaRR rehearsal in the first few weeks of each semester.
Summer Theater
If you have just completed 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade, and like to sing, dance, and act, this is the program for you! This is a two week drama and music program that culminates in an amazing theatrical performance! Summer Theater happens every Summer, and registration packets come out late each Spring.
