May 4 – Drive thru grocery collection (from 9:00-11:00 in the upper parking lot) for 4 Community Care Food Pantry serving families and seniors dealing with food insecurity living within the Poway Unified School District (PUSD) boundaries. May 26 (Sunday) – San Diego Blood Bank mobile van will be in the lower parking lot from 8:00-1:30. Reservations are encouraged but not required. April was a busy month for the Outreach Ministry collecting and delivering 5 carloads of Cup-A-Soup meals to Salvation Army, Solutions for Change, Interfaith Community Services, New Day Urban Ministries, and Alpha Project. All non-profits greatly appreciated your support to their outreach serving homeless in San Diego. Additionally, 400 sack lunches have been delivered to Interfaith by our friends at Silvergate and the Carpenters Fellowship group. Two carloads of infant and toddler necessities have been delivered to STEP, Solutions for Change, New Day Urban Ministries, and to Door of Hope. Special shout out to the Deacons for providing $400 worth of infant and toddler necessities and to generous individuals who provided $450 in checks to these non-profits. Thank you to Ken Ho for dropping off 50 pairs of shoes that have also been taken to Interfaith, Solutions, and New Day Urban Ministries. Arabian Night is always a highlight at RB Community! Come on May 18th and learn more about our Middle East missions while you eat, dance, and be merry with the lively music. Pastor Mofid has been leading mission trips to Egypt for over 25 years. RB Community supports his efforts in training and financial assistance to pastors, in demonstrating the love of Jesus by distributing shoes, backpacks, other necessities, and by providing VBS experiences for children. Did you know that in San Diego County there is a need for 350 blood donations daily? Did you know that every unit of blood that is collected helps 3 people (not just one)? Did you know that RB Community has a blood account with San Diego Blood Bank for people in our congregation who need blood transfusions? Please consider donating on Sunday, May 18. If you are looking for a family fun activity this summer, please consider packing 100 sack lunches for clients of Interfaith Community Services. You do the shopping, packing, and delivering of sack lunches and the Missions Outreach Ministry can reimburse you for expenses. Interfaith needs 300-400 sack lunches each day.
