Blessing Children Throughout the County

“Thank you so much for the kids’ shoes! They look amazing and I know our kids will be overjoyed to have new shoes. They are used to getting used shoes that wear out right away. New shoes will be such a blessing for them. Thank you, RB Community Presbyterian Church.” Ashley Guzik and Michelle LeBeau at San Diego Rescue Mission

“A big THANK YOU to RB Presbyterian Church for all the donated school supplies to support our students. This is huge for us because it helps us (the counseling staff) help our kids.” Jami Jennings, Counselor at Twin Peaks Middle School

“Thank you so much, the children were so excited for our Back-to-School event. Your church’s donations of backpacks and school supplies was such a blessing to our students. And now, the new shoes will be a tremendous help to our families.” Laura Upson, Coordinator at PUSD Youth in Transition

Although these thank you notes come to me, they are meant for you and our community members that help support our Outreach efforts each month. The RBCPC Outreach Ministry is not a one man show … you are part of a community of faithful donors helping to care for our village.

As of this writing, 151 pairs of new shoes have been delivered to Solutions for Change, PUSD Youth in Transition, San Diego Rescue Mission, and Monarch School. We beat the August challenge goal of 100 pairs … very nicely done! During August 300 sack lunches have been provided to Interfaith Community Services prepared by our friends at Silvergate Senior Living Center and the Puntenney Crazy Eight fellowship group.

For those of you interested in making a monetary donation to help families in Maui please make checks out to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. Members of the PDA response team are on the ground and helping those in need. Sending supplies and other items has become more difficult. Organizations are requesting monetary donations so they can purchase necessary materials in Hawaii to help rebuild homes and support their local economy. However, if you are planning a trip to Maui anytime during the year, the Missions Committee/Outreach Ministry would like to send a suitcase of goods that you can deliver to any church or shelter on Maui, and they will distribute to those they serve in need.
