Advent Devotional 2011
Christmas time is the season of giving. We spend a lot of time shopping, wrapping and giving gifts to our loved ones. This year’s advent devotional is focused on the gifts that God gives us. The devotionals inside are wonderful examples of the diversity and uniqueness of God’s gifts.
It is our hope that this devotional will encourage and uplift you each day. Whether you read the entire devotional in one sitting or read one each day, it is our prayer that you are on the lookout for God’s gifts to you this Christmas season. The book of James tells us that “Every good gift and very perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights…” James 1:17. Our God is truly the Giver of good gifts.
Our scripture from Isaiah reminds us that God’s most precious gift to us is the gift of His Son, Jesus.
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulders.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
